Hi, I’m Gia. (pronounced jee-ah)

I embrace an integrative, patient-centered approach to the art of acupuncture and Chinese internal medicine in the Linden Hills neighborhood of Minneapolis. I keenly attune to patients and their complex conditions. In just a few visits, I can help you find the growth and healing you’ve been looking for.

Nationally board certified and licensed with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice, I completed my Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAcOM) at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Oregon.

In addition to clinical practice, I satisfy my interests in Integrative Medicine and research as a part-time Doctoral candidate at the Pacific College of Health and Science in San Diego, California. I also travel in order to complete more advanced studies with experts in the areas of neuro-acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, and have completed rotations in the Pain Management Center at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.

Born in Vietnam and growing up in Minnesota, I practiced Chinese folk medicine from a young age and maintain a healthy, balanced perspective and respect for both Eastern and Western medicine.

In my free time, I enjoy sharing my native cuisine(s) with others, practicing Qigong, camping, and exploring the hiking trails in and around the Twin Cities. I love dogs of all shapes and sizes (ok, I may have a slight affinity for big, block-headed dogs) - and am frequently daydreaming of my next 4-legged partner in crime.

My Approach

I am dedicated to your health — and it’s important to me to maintain a strong working relationship with the medical and healthcare community — specifically, your medical and healthcare community. I work diligently to close the gap between traditional and complementary healthcare so we can work in unison - in your best interest.

This might mean consulting and collaborating with other care providers on cases, reporting findings and progress (only at your request with written authorization), and reviewing test and imaging results as appropriate to provide care as efficiently as possible.

At our initial appointment, I will have reviewed your intake documents and we’ll discuss your goals, concerns and medical history. If you have a Western diagnosis, I won’t shy away from, nor resign to it — it is simply another important input in your Care Plan.

Establishing your current baselines and Chinese Medicine diagnosis allows us to set specific treatment goals and timelines together — so we’ll always have clear measurements with which to objectively view progress.

My goal is to be effective and efficient in your care — never extending treatment beyond what is beneficial— and to be a partner in your overall wellness, however that’s best achieved.
